FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q- We just started our semester and are only a few days away from the deadline.  Can we have some more time to submit the school registration form without incurring a late fee.

A- Yes, I apologize for setting our deadlines so close to your semester start date.  Let's plan on a postmark by Friday February 8, 2008.  Keep in mind that the following week the individual student fees are also due.  In the meantime, if you could just email me the projected number of students you intend to send and what events you are going to participate in that would be appreciated. email is jessemclaughlin@comcast.net

Q- Is the paper competition mandatory this year?

A- The paper competition is not mandatory for the Regional Competition.  However, it is my understanding that if your school does not participate in the paper competition in good faith, neither the Concrete Canoe or the Steel Bridge Team will be allowed to advance to Nationals.  You may want to verify this information with the ASCE website on your own.

Q-Where can I find information and requirements for the technical paper/presentation event?

A-This information can now be found at our website http://www.asce.pdx.edu/2008_Conference.html

Q-What equipment and how many members are needed for the mystery event?

A-There is no limit to the number of members that may participate in the mystery event.  All supplies will be provided to you.

Q-Can we pay the registration fee online using a credit card?

A-Yes you can.  Please follow these directions.

You will need to go to this website.

https://www.foundation.pdx.edu/publicgift/

1.  Then choose "New Gift"

2.  Choose "other" and enter "2801072 PSU ASCE Student Chapter" in the box below it. Then select Continue.

3.  Enter the payment amount and select Proceed to Step 2

4.  Enter your school's name in the first line

then your club name, you got the rest, you can leave graduation year blank, then select Proceed to Step 3

5.  Just fill out the bottom part of the next page. (This is where you put you card info).

IMPORTANT- In the comment field please put "This is a registration fee, not a gift."

Then hit "MAKE MY GIFT!"

Q-How many people can participate in the Surveying event?

A-Up to four students can participate in the Surveying Competition.
